H.C Andersens og mange andre forfattere har brugt skyggen til at repræsentere det vi som mennesker undertrykker og skubber til side. Det er de ting som forrykker vores indre balance til den ene eller den anden side, det som får os til at rykke væk fra vores center. det ultimative er at være i orkanens øje og være opmærksom på alt, men proaktiv, det vil sige, kun reagere når du selv vælger at reagere..

The beast inside us all

I lived my life like ever one else did
Booze, girls, reckless nights with beautiful girls
I didn’t care much, and I didn’t ask for much in return
I just lived my life with my fancy façade and my disarming smile

But then it came
sneaking up on me like a creature in the night
I could have foreseen it’s coming
I should have heard the warnings of the prophets
But I didn’t

There creature crept up on me
I was caught
Unaware of the consequences of what I have just done
Misinformed….. Or did I really care when it was foretold

Now the creature is my shadow
Lurking to devour me, if I do not fight it
Fight it with all my strength
Waiting for a cure

Will it ever come?
Or will the monster always be lurking in the shadows
Ready to stalk people who don’t know it is there?

If you’re strong you’ll survive
If you give up you will succumb

So fight it, don’t ever give up
Make your own life worth living again
Just be aware of your shadow now
